Who May Submit?

  • At least one author must be an active undergraduate or graduate student.
  • Co-authored work is welcome when each author's contribution is clear.
  • All authors must approve the final version before submission.

Manuscript Preparation

  • The manuscript may be written in Turkish or English.
  • The main text must use Times New Roman, 12-point font.
  • The article title must use 14-point type; all section and subsection headings must use 12-point type.
  • Use no more than three numbered heading levels: 1., 1.1., and 1.1.1.
  • All paragraphs must use single line spacing; 1.5 spacing should not be used.
  • The abstract must contain 250-300 words and use 10-point type.
  • The manuscript must include at least 5 keywords, set in 10-point type.
  • All citations and references must follow APA 7.
  • The similarity rate must be below 20%.

What We Look For

  • Research articles should present a clear question, method, evidence, and conclusion.
  • Literature reviews should analyze and connect the literature rather than simply summarize it.
  • Book reviews and interviews should establish their context and use relevant sources where needed.
  • Figures, tables, appendices, and interview materials must be accurate, legible, and properly attributed.

Use of Artificial Intelligence

  • AI tools cannot be listed as authors.
  • Generating all or a substantial part of the manuscript with an AI tool is not acceptable.
  • Limited technical use of AI must be disclosed in the manuscript.
  • Authors are responsible for the wording, citations, interpretations, and factual accuracy of their work.

Ethics Approval

If your research involves questionnaires, interviews, focus groups, observation, experiments, human or animal subjects, retrospective data covered by data protection law, or a case report, you must obtain ethics committee approval before you begin collecting data. Approval cannot be obtained retroactively.

Close the manuscript with a Declarations heading, placed after the conclusion and before the references. Declarations must contain:

  • an ethics statement — a declaration that research and publication ethics have been observed, giving the name of the ethics committee, the date of the decision and the decision or protocol number;
  • a conflict of interest statement, even if there is nothing to declare.

Funding and acknowledgements go in the same section but are optional. If your study does not require ethics committee approval, say so explicitly under Declarations and explain why. See the Publication Ethics page for the full requirements.

ORCID

JEMUR requires an ORCID iD for every author. ORCID is a free, permanent identifier that keeps your work attributed to you even if your name, institution or e-mail address changes, and it is expected by the indexes JEMUR works with. If you do not have one, register at orcid.org/register; it takes a few minutes.

Enter each author's ORCID iD in the author metadata when you submit. Only the account holder can confirm an iD, so one you type in on a co-author's behalf stays unconfirmed until they act.

Before Submission

  • Prepare the manuscript file, title, abstract, keywords, author details, and any required supplementary files in final form.
  • Check permissions for images, figures, interview material, or third-party content.
  • Make sure every author has approved the final version.
  • Download and sign the JEMUR Copyright Transfer Form and include it with the submission files.

Early Access

If your article is accepted, it may appear online before its issue is complete. This shortens the time between acceptance and public availability, and lets you cite and share the work immediately.

An early access article is final: peer reviewed, edited, proofread, and with a DOI. Only the volume, issue and page numbers are missing. Cite it as Advance online publication until the issue appears; the DOI stays the same afterwards, so nothing you have shared will break.

Early access is applied at the editors' discretion. You do not need to request it, and it does not affect the review process.
